The Datalogic TLu-115 is a contrast sensor for detecting printed registration and colour marks on packaging film, labels and paper. It selects red (630 nm) or green (526 nm) LED light for the best contrast between mark and background. With a PNP output and an M12 connector, it is a common choice on European-designed packaging machines.

How it works
Contrast sensors detect print marks by the difference in brightness or colour between the mark and the background. During teach-in, the TLu-115 learns both and sets its switching point between them. The analogue output helps the technician see how strong the contrast is, which makes set-up and troubleshooting faster.

TLu-115 vs TLu-011
The TLu-115 has a PNP output and an M12 connector. The TLu-011 has the same optics with an NPN output and a 3 m cable. If you need RGB light for difficult colour marks, look at the TL50-W-815 or TL46-W-815.
Installation tips
- Keep the sensor at about 9 mm from the material.
- Turn the light spot so its long side runs across the mark.
- Support the film under the sensor to stop flutter.
- Use a shielded M12 cable and keep it away from motor cables.
